2022 in Review – Happy New Year Ahead!

We here at the15net.com would like to thank our literal dozens of regular readers, and our literal tens of irregular readers, for a most successful and gratifying 2022.

Whether it was the resumption of the March Sadness Biggest Mediot Tournament, (which will return) whose winner, Greg Bedard, featured prominently in another popular post in 2022. Or helping run Patriots-hater Matt Fairburn out of town in June, back to Buffalo where he belongs. Or our answering the perennial questions ‘Who is Jake in Boston?’ and ‘Shukri: Fan or Fraud?‘ Or our Anita’s eulogy of John Madden. Or the reposting of the terrific ‘A PSA for the Boston Sports Media.’ Some doubtless enjoyed Death by a Thousand Memes. I know I did. Perhaps you found the holiday mixtape playlists diverting. Or even the weekly cleanings out of the Sports Junk Drawer. (Maybe the special All Bill Russell Edition of the same published the day after his passing.) We are grateful you found them enjoyable. We also appreciate the support you have shown our new hire Vernon Dozier.

We do regret that our NFL wagering columns appeared with dismaying infrequency and will try and do better in 2023.

However, all in all 2022 was a good year for the site, with more views and nearly as many visitors as 2021. We hope to build on that in 2023.

And here’s a hand, my trusty fere!

We are here, the main event. Greg A. Bedard versus Chris Gasper. They know one another. You know them. But they do not know you, because, in all likelihood you are muted or blocked. Payback time. The March Sadness Final Matchup is set. Almost A Coach Greg A. Bedard of (for now) the Boston Sports Journal versus Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe. Due to overwhelming interest, there will now be a consolation match between the runners-up. Noontime EDT today until noontime EDT tomorrow Sunday April 3rd. Championship Monday after that. Thank you for your interest in ridiculing mediots. cheers.

Lou Merloni defeats Mike Felger. Not a sentence that gets written often but applies here. Across the way, Squeaky Mazz loses to his show’s receptionist. Globies win out in the V Region, with Dan perhaps coasting on reputation. Kid Gas doubtless ebullient at his coup over Keefe. Bedard in a no-doubter over Kusnierek after a bloc of illegal votes were excluded, and the 7 seed Tom E. overtops the 6 seeded Marc B. T Region could stand for Ted, who wins handily, and Ben Volin was never in danger of losing to the once-menacing Bert Breer.

These Eight will face off Monday, March 28th.

March Sadness R32 Region N and Region T -Results – Subsequent Six

DOWN GOES JOANSIE! DOWN GOES JOANSIE! DOWN GOES JOANSIE!

Some boat races, a squeaker, and some shocking upsets out of the N & T Regions. The #1 seeds move on handily, the 7 seed Tom E. ekes out #2 Gresh by the slimmest of margins, while Ted Johnson does better against a surprisingly competitive Matt McCarthy.

But it’s the two Six seeds upsetting the threes that tells the story here. A late groundswell pushed Dan Lifshatz to victory over Alex Reimer, while across the way in the N Region, Marc Bertrand pulls out a W against the very disliked Adam Jones. A group of dedicated single-issue voters sweeping in to protect their beloved reverend sport buzzard, or whatever? Who can say?
